Aerial view of Canberra (4)

You are not looking at a spaceship that has just landed in Canberra, this is the National Museum of Australia. I quite like the quirky architecture and it's a great museum too!

I have been through this museum twice now and still struggle with it. I guess it is there as a counterpoint to museums like that in Sydney which is natural history whereas this one is social history.

I just find it a bit "junky" ...

I love the natural history museums in Europe, but I guess a social history museum like this is interesting in terms of education - whether it's for Aussie school kids or foreign tourists. I've only been once or twice. Love the distinctive architecture.
