Wishing wells have a magnetic effect on me.. I can never walk past without tossing a coin and I want to believe that some of those wishes did come true.. after all I ended up staying in Australia, as per my wish, when I nearly didn't and not by my own will! I was going to reveal my wish when I threw a coin in this well at the botanic gardens.. but you're not supposed to so I'll keep it secret!

What's the story behind wishing wells? We don't throw coins in wells, but fountains...
I love them, but only ever throw in 5c pieces, maybe if I was more extravagant my wishes would come true. So glad that yours did :)
Mirela, the ones I have come across are maintained by Rotary Clubs and the funds collected are used for community projects or given to charities.
Fiona, it's better than nothing but you should see it as an investment in your future lol
